Canada’s marblemedia is seeing its interconnected tween sitcoms The Parker Andersons and Amelia Parker gaining traction at market.
Produced last year, the two 20 x 30-minute series have been sold to Uptv Stateside, Australia’s ABC and TVNZ in New Zealand. Built as a simultaneous series and spinoff, the shows feature separate narratives for shared characters that make up the Parker family of Chicago. In one series, the Parkers are the focus, but their teenage daughter is in the spotlight in the other show.
Created and showrun by Anthony Farrell, both series were commissioned by BYUtv in the US and co-produced by marblemedia and Beachwood Canyon Productions in Toronto.
This deal was among a flurry of sales recently brokered by marblemedia subsidiary Distribution360 (D360). Culinary live-action series Tastebuds (33 x 30 minutes) has been picked up by US AVOD Future Today.
DuoMedia and Akili (Kenya) have acquired seasons one to four of All-Round Champion (44 x 60 minutes), an unscripted series that sees teen athletes train and compete in a sport that is new to them. RTM (Malaysia) opted to buy the first two seasons only.
And PCCW has renewed its license to air Super Mighty Makers (26 x 11 minutes) in Hong Kong and Macau.
