Swipe It with Joe Tasker, a new live-action series starring the British YouTuber and presenter, has been commissioned by Narrative Entertainment, the owner of UK kids channel POP.

The comedy series will see Tasker take part in various challenges and games both in studio and outdoors. He will also seek to answer quirky questions, such as estimating how many ants it would take to lift the Eiffel Tower.

POP targets kids ages four to nine. London-based Narrative also runs preschool channel Tiny POP and older-skewing Pop Max for seven- to 12-year-old boys.

Swipe It with Joe Tasker is produced by Ben Spiteri (Spy School), and is scheduled for a July 30 premiere on POP and the POP Player. Format details are not available yet.

Tasker has been running a self-titled YouTube channel (206,000 subscribers) since 2013, where he stars in comedy sketches and vlogs and collaborates with other YouTubers. He is a co-presenter on the CBBC series Saturday Mash-Up! as well.

Also premiering on POP next week is Kung Fu Sock, a 2D-animated series (52 x 11 minutes) from China’s Tencent Video and UYoung Media. It’s about a young girl who embarks on a mission to defeat evil and protect the world after discovering a super-powered alien sock.
