New York-based IMG will now serve as Lionsgate’s exclusive global agency for consumer products. The two companies have set up a multi-year partnership that will see IMG develop licensing programs for Lionsgate’s TV shows and movies in multiple categories.
Popular teen/YA film franchises The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games (pictured) are covered under the deal, including their upcoming iterations. Lionsgate is currently developing The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel film that’s slated for release in 2023.
This new L&M partnership comes on the heels of Lionsgate creating a Global Products and Experiences division that combines its consumer products and live, interactive and location-based entertainment teams.
The new unit will be run by Jenefer Brown, who has served as Lionsgate’s EVP and head of global products and experience since 2014. She reports to Jen Hollingsworth, COO of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
