New York’s Republic Records is kicking off its kids business on a high note with Nickelodeon. Republic’s months-old kids and family division has partnered with Nick to create new music and distribute the kidsnet’s existing catalogue.

The first project under the partnership is the Blue’s Big City Adventure album, which features original songs from the new Nickelodeon/Paramount+ movie Blue’s Clues & You! The lead single from the album (called “On Our Way”) premiered earlier this month, and Republic will release the full album on November 18—which is also when the CG-animated and live-action film is set to premiere on Paramount+.

Blue’s Big City Adventure (pictured) features the three hosts who starred in the popular Blue’s Clues TV show over the course of its run, appearing together on-screen for the first time. Aimed at kids ages two to seven, the 70-minute film follows Blue and host Josh as they attempt to audition for a Broadway musical in New York. After getting lost in the city, Steve and Joe (the other two hosts) arrive to help them get to the audition on time. The pic will be available in the US, Canada, the UK, Latin America and Australia.

Republic Records launched its kids and family division on August 19. It’s headed up by Bree Bowles, who joined the company in February after past stints at Nickelodeon and Disney in various programming and media roles.

While Blue’s Clues & You! is the first project for Republic’s kids and family division, the company has previously released soundtracks for kid-friendly films such as Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Sony Pictures) and family shows like The Voice.
