Collectibles giant Funko and UK-based 10:10 Games have signed a deal with NBCUniversal to incorporate characters and locations from its catalogue of films and movies into the upcoming video game Funko Fusion.

The new action game has a AAA budget (a category that starts at US$50 million), and is set in a world made up of different NBCUniversal brands. While none of its featured properties have been confirmed, the game’s first teaser image showcases a mix of Funko Pop! Dinosaurs (Jurassic World), cyborgs (Battlestar Galactica) and Frankenstein’s monster.

Users will be able to play as NBCUniversal characters either by themselves or with up to three other people online. 10:10 Games is developing the teen-rated title using Unreal Engine 5. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and on PC, but no release date is available yet.

Funko announced that it was breaking into the gaming industry with 10:10 Games in July. This title marks Funko’s first-ever co-production, and Funko Fusion will be 10:10 Games’ first release since the company launched in August 2021.

Jon Burton, 10:10’s CEO and creative director, is heading up development. He previously worked for LA-based Deviation Games, where he served as director on several LEGO-branded games, including LEGO Marvel’s Avengers (2016) and LEGO Jurassic World (2015).
