WildBrain has come on board to manage worldwide distribution for a new 2D-animated series called Saving Me. The first two seasons (20 x 22 minutes) were produced by Montreal’s Sphere Animation in partnership with US broadcaster BYUtv.

Season one premiered earlier this month on BYUtv’s app and linear channel, and Saving Me is the broadcaster’s first original animated series.

Set in the distant future, the show revolves around tech-billionaire genius Bennett Bramble, who has royally messed up his life, his relationships and the world at large. Desperate for a second chance, Bennett builds a time machine and enters the consciousness of his 11-year-old self so he can rewrite his grim history and learn how to be a better person.

Film producer Aaron Johnston (Ender’s Game) created the series, which Gary Bailey (Arthur, The Racoons) is directing. Season two is slated to premiere on BYUtv next year.

This is the latest in a series of global distribution deals WildBrain has inked in 2022. The company secured the rights to South Africa-based Sunrise Productions’ CG-animated show Jungle Beat in June, and it took on the first four seasons of HarperCollins Productions’ 2D-animated caper Carmen Sandiego a month later.
