Netflix is setting its sights on another YouTube-first preschool IP, acquiring a popular kids musical series called Mầm Chồi Lá (Sprouts Buds in English) for its service in Vietnam.

POPS Worldwide, based in Ho Chi Minh City, produces the live-action show that features five kids singing nursery rhymes and songs.

Mầm Chồi Lá has been available since late 2015 on Vietnamese YouTube channel POPS Kids (15 million subscribers), where it has racked up 1.9 billion views and more than 154 million viewing hours, according to POPS Worldwide.

Netflix seems to be making a habit of buying popular YouTube-first IPs aimed at preschoolers. Mầm Chồi Lá will join similar acquisitions such as Moonbug’s CoComelon and a Blippi spinoff in the streamer’s lineup next month. Netflix has also greenlit a new CoComelon-based show called CoComelon Lane, and is co-producing Little Baby Bum: Music Time with Moonbug.
