LA-based ZAG has brought in former Zuru VP James Nunziati to head up global sales operations for its new Play Toy division, starting today.

As head of global sales, Nunziati is tasked with implementing sales strategies to strengthen ZAG’s brands and build new relationships with retailers. He reports to Play Toy SVP Helena Perheentupa, and will work closely with the company’s marketing, product development and content teams in LA.

ZAG launched its Play Toy division in August to develop proprietary lines of toys and consumer products for superhero IPs such as Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir and Ghostforce, as well as its upcoming CG-animated film Melody. Perheentupa is planning to unveil the division’s first range at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February.

Prior to joining ZAG, Nunziati served as VP of sales and marketing at LA-based toyco Zuru for the last seven years, managing marketing for brands including X-Shot blasters, Rainbocorns and Robo Alive. He has also held senior marketing roles at DreamWorks and Mattel, and consulted on business development for 20th Century Fox.
