France’s Mediawan has bumped Julien Borde (pictured right) up to president of its Kids & Family division, bringing in Katell France (pictured left) to take over his duties as managing director and chief content officer of Method Animation.
Both execs officially started in their new positions two weeks ago, and Method founder/CEO Aton Soumache will now also serve as an honorary president of the Kids & Family division, advising the team and helping to identify new IPs and talent.
Borde first joined the company two years ago as EVP and CCO of ON kids & family, with a double remit to head up content at Method and also help support this year’s launch of the Mediawan Kids & Family division. He previously served as WarnerMedia’s head of kids channels (France and Africa) and head of digital at pubcaster France Télévisions.
France has taken over from Borde at Method and will oversee production and development of the studio’s existing and upcoming content. Camille Oesch (head of originals), Olivier Pérouze (head of classics) and Raphaël Séjourné (head of adult animation and special projects) all now report to her.
Prior to joining Mediawan, France spent 12 years at French prodco Studio 100 Animation (Maya the Bee) as managing director and executive producer. She began her career as a production manager at Gaumont, and later served as deputy managing director at Xilam Animation.
Method, which presented Witch Detectives and Ki & Hi at Cartoon Forum in September, is currently prepping reboots of French stop-motion series The Magic Roundabout and classic Japanese anime Astroboy.
