Paris-based Superights has acquired worldwide distribution rights (excluding China and Luxembourg) to a new CG-animated series called Deep in the Bowl from Zeilt Productions.
Targeting kids ages eight to 12, the 52 x five-minute show revolves around a group of pet fish who ponder existential questions such as “What is the meaning of life?” from their glass abode. The sketch series is based on Nicolas Poupon’s French comic Le Fond du Bocal, which is published by Glénat.
Luxembourg-based Zeilt is co-producing Deep in the Bowl with China’s Tencent Video and WATT frame France, fueled by additional capital from Film Fund Luxembourg and Grand Est Region. The series is slated for delivery in March, and Superights will be pitching it at Kidscreen Summit next month.
The toon joins Momulu and Friends (Ferly, Yellow Animation and Digital Graphics), Go! Go! Cory Carson (Vtech and Kuku Studio) and Anna and Friends (Superprod, Digital Graphics and Atmosphere Media for France Télévisions) in Superprod’s content library.
