Andrew Gumpert, a senior exec at Paramount, is leaving after more than five years with the company. Kidscreen has confirmed that the business operations veteran is stepping down from his role as COO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios.

The news was shared with Paramount and Nick staff via a memo from CEO and president Brian Robbins saying that Gumpert has decided to leave the role and pursue the next chapter in his career.

Gumpert headed up business operations for Paramount Pictures from 2017 to March 2022, at which point his role was expanded to include the oversight of Nick Studios. During his tenure at Paramount, Gumbert shaped business and growth strategies for popular kids IPs such as PAW Patrol, Transformers, Sonic the Hedgehog and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also helped develop the kids content pipeline for streamer Paramount+.

Courtney Armstrong, president of business affairs and administration, is stepping in to manage strategic planning in the wake of his departure. And Paramount Studio Group president Randall Baumberger will oversee operations. Both execs continue to report to Robbins.

Before joining Paramount, Gumpert spent more than a decade at LA’s Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he was responsible for financial partnerships and worked on deals for films including the Amazing Spider-Man duology. When he left the studio in 2016, his title was president of worldwide business affairs and operations for Sony’s Motion Picture Group.
