Mattel’s resurrected Monster High doll brand is heading out across North America starting this fall in the IP’s first touring stage show.
The toyco has partnered with Family Entertainment Live and Full Stop Productions to produce the new family musical show Monster High Live, which sees Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura and Frankie Stein preparing for their high school’s annual Monster Ball.
The production’s storyline will weave in messages of acceptance and inclusion, while featuring musical numbers from both the 2022 live-action feature film Monster High: The Movie and season one of the new Monster High CG-animated series (52 x 11 minutes).
Family Entertainment Live anticipates booking the stage show into 60 to 70 arena-sized venues in its first 18 months, said CEO Ken Hudgins in a release.
Mattel previously partnered with the company in 2018 to launch the stunt show Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live. This tour will be extended into the first half of 2023 with new bookings in 23 cities across Europe and the US.
Mattel relaunched its Monster High brand in 2022 with new content and product ranges. This year it’s brewing up a live-action sequel film with Nickelodeon, as well as a second season of the animated series (40 x 11 minutes).
