Veteran children’s entertainment executive Simon Philips is stepping away from his role at Moonbug Entertainment to start a new chapter as president of Florida-based experiential entertainment company Falcon’s Beyond.

The former Marvel Entertainment International president confirmed his new gig on Linkedin earlier this week. He starts today and has relocated from the UK to Florida for the position. Philips joined the company’s board as an advisor in March 2022, helping to steer its licensing strategy.

During his two-year tenure as managing director of global consumer products at London-based Moonbug, Philips led the development of L&M programs for flagship preschool franchises Blippi and CoComelon. And throughout his career, he has worked at many other high-profile companies, including Disney, Marvel and The Pokémon Company International.

This leadership hire comes just as Falcon’s Beyond prepares to open the first of seven planned theme parks based on proprietary IP Katmandu, which it acquired in a merger with the former Katmandu Group in 2021. The first park is located in the Dominican Republic and will feature attractions including a 36-hole mini golf course, four indoor rock climbing centers and a 4D interactive ride that tells the Katmandu origin story.
