The streamer has picked up eOne’s British preschool series Peppa Pig to launch across the EMEA region in 25 languages. The first six seasons will drop on Disney+ from now through April in markets including the UK, France, Spain, the Baltics and Turkey. It has already launched in Italy and will roll out in Portugal at the end of this month. In other franchise news, a second US Peppa Pig theme park is opening next year in Texas, operated by Merlin Entertainment.
The Wiggles
The still-booming Wiggles band has a new deal in place to appear in a series of music videos with popular YouTube group Bounce Patrol. Featuring new renditions of kids songs such as “Baby Shark” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” the vids will launch exclusively on The Wiggles and Bounce Patrol YouTube channels, the latter of which brings 27 million subscribers into the mix.
Alpha Group
The Chinese animation studio has partnered with London-based learning company Sandbox Group to develop an educational app called Super Wings (pictured) for kids ages three and up. Sandbox Group’s Edujoy division in Spain is developing the app, which will feature educational puzzles and games with a focus on language, music, reasoning, coordination and visual skills. It’s set for worldwide release this month in the App Store and Google Play.
