Veteran kids and family entertainment exec Stephanie Sperber has stepped down as president of Imagine Kids & Family, a division of Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment.
An Imagine spokesperson confirmed to Kidscreen that Sperber has left to pursue independent production, seeking partners and projects for a new shingle.
In her absence, the LA-based division will be led by Imagine Features president Karen Lunder and Imagine Television president Kristen Zolner.
Sperber joined Imagine Kids & Family as president in 2019, prior to the division’s launch. During her four years at the prodco, Sperber worked as exec producer on projects including The Tiny Chef Show, Imagine’s first live-action series The Astronauts, the animated series Bossy Bear and The Slumber Party movie for Disney+.
Previously, she founded and led California-based White Space Entertainment, which creates kids franchises based on CP and digital games. Sperber also oversaw CP and retail areas for Universal Pictures, where she handled marketing and sales for the Despicable Me franchise and managed campaigns for Fast & Furious and Jurassic Park IPs.
