Reese Witherspoon’s prodco Hello Sunshine has hired Disney exec Lauren Kisilevsky as EVP of live-action for families, kids and young adults.
In her new role, Kisilevsky will oversee all things kids at Hello Sunshine, including developing and identifying new IP and production of projects on its slate. She reports to Hello Sunshine’s CEO Sarah Harden.
The launch of the new division under Kisilevsky comes after Hello Sunshine’s owner, Candle Media, decided to shutter the prodco’s animation division in order to consolidate it under its Moonbug operations.
Kisilevsky joins Hello Sunshine after working 13 years at Disney in various positions, most recently as EVP of original movies for Disney Branded Television. During her time at Disney, she oversaw several films for Disney+, including Upside-Down Magic, Descendants 3, Zombies 2 and Spin, as well as Secret Society of Second-Born Royals and Sneakerella.
She also supervised the production of upcoming Disney+ movies, including the adaptation of the New York Times best-selling novel Out of My Mind, the romantic comedy Prom Pact, and the Christmas heist film Naughty Nine.
Prior to joining Disney, Kisilevsky worked at Reese Witherspoon’s Type A Films as VP of development and at Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst Films as VP of production and acquisitions.
