RTS Switzerland acquires fantasy series

The broadcaster has picked up Runes from Les Armateurs—the sister company of French producer and distributor Prime Entertainment Group—which premiered on Canal+ in October 2022.

Swiss-based broadcaster RTS has acquired French studio Les Armateurs’ 3D-animated series Runes from distributor Prime Entertainment Group.

Aimed at seven- to 11-year-olds, Runes (26 x 22 minutes) follows William, a 12-year-old boy who is heir to the throne of Normandy but must go on the run to save himself from evildoers trying to assassinate him.

Paris-based Blue Spirit Animation animated the series, which premiered on Canal+ in France in October 2022. Jean-Louis Vandestoc (LoliRock) directs the series.

Other projects Prime Entertainment Group has sold into Italy and Switzerland in recent years include kids movie Looking for Santa for Rai Kids and the documentary for adults Once Upon a Time Electricity for RSI.
