London-based VFX company Jellyfish Pictures has hired industry veterans Chrissy Metge (pictured left) and Louis Flores (pictured right) to bolster its animation team.

Metge joined the studio as an animation executive producer last week, followed by Flores, who started this week as visual effects supervisor. One of their first projects will be an undisclosed feature for a Hollywood studio, according to a release. But Jellyfish is also currently producing an animated series for Netflix called Wereworld, based on a same-name book series by Curtis Jobling (Bob the Builder‘s original production designer), as well as an adaptation of a Roald Dahl book for Netflix Features Animation.

Metge has more than 20 years of animation experience working at visual effects companies including DNEG and Weta Workshop. Flores most recently served as a VFX supervisor at Mikros Animation. But before that, he supervised the DreamWorks Animation effects department for 15 years, working on content for franchises including Kung Fu Panda, Trolls and The Croods.

Jellyfish has been going through a growth spurt lately, opening a new studio in India last November and hiring producer Jasjit Singh to run it. The company also restructured its leadership team at the end of 2022 after selling a minority ownership stake to private equity firm Key Capital Partners.

As part of this restructuring, it brought David Patton, former global president of brand experience and advertising at Technicolor Creative Studios, as CEO; and Phil Greenlow, former global managing director of film at MPC, as managing director.
