Serious Kids has signed on to manage worldwide sales for a new live-action preschool series called What’s In Your Bag? (pictured) from London-based prodco Gold Wala.

The 30 x seven-minute format is built around a series of interviews with people in different professions—from gymnasts to musicians—about their jobs, cultures and hobbies. The BBC commissioned What’s In Your Bag?, which premiered on CBeebies in April and was the channel’s highest-rated live-action series in its first week on air. The show is based on another Gold Wala preschool series called What’s On Your Head? (10 x five minutes), which debuted on the Beeb in 2021 and is also distributed by Serious Kids.

Gold Wala has been producing factual, educational and music content for kids and adults since it launched in 2018. Its other kids shows include BBC live-actioner Listen, Dad, about a soccer-loving girl; and mixed-media series Match of Bedtime, which recreates some pivotal soccer moments from years past. Last week, Gold Wala also announced that it’s producing a new 60-minute film about ’80s music for More4, owned and operated by the UK’s Channel Four Television Corporation.

Serious Kids has been doing quite well with series focused on education and career development. It sold CBBC live-action series Operation Ouch! (161 episodes) to Canada’s Corus Entertainment and ABC Australia, and then started developing a US format of the show with producer Maverick in 2019. More recently, the distributor has added The Ghastly Ghoul, a one-off special from Lupus Films and Dream Logic Animation Studios, and Doodle Productions’ preschool series Messy Goes to Okido to its global content portfolio.
