US streamer FuboTV has announced wider distribution of its new Maximum Effort Channel, created in partnership with actor Ryan Reynolds’ same-name prodco.
The channel, first announced in August last year as part of an agreement between the two companies, will feature a mix of classic series and original content. Its first project is an original kids and family series called Bedtime Stories With Ryan (pictured). To stock up the channel, Maximum Effort is developing more content, including an unscripted series that’s part of an exclusive first-look deal it has with Fubo.
Fubo and Maximum Effort have secured multiple streaming distribution deals to launch the channel, which drops on Fubo tomorrow (June 20). The US partners that have picked up the channel are Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, VIDAA, VIZIO WatchFree+ and Xumo Play.
While Fubo is a sports-focused live TV streamer, the platform also offers kid-friendly entertainment as part of its lineup, including channels such as Nickelodeon, Toon Goggles and Disney. The company added more kids content when it signed a deal with pocket.watch in March to add two of the kidco’s branded channels to its lineup this year.
Fubo is further strengthening this presence in the kids space with Bedtime Stories with Ryan. Aimed at a co-view audience, this 15-episode live-actioner will feature Reynolds reading classic bedtime stories to viewers. Maximum Effort and Fubo co-produce the series alongside New York-based companies ArtClass and Loon Productions.
Bedtime Stories with Ryan is a more kid-friendly project for Reynolds’s New York-based banner, which has primarily produced adult-skewing films like Deadpool 2 and Free Guy.
The Maximum Effort Channel is part of a broader multi-year agreement between the streamer and the prodco, which gives Maximum Effort full creative control to curate programming for the channel.
