LA’s Invisible Universe has brought in Toronto-based Segal Licensing to serve as its first North American licensing agent.
Segal will move the animation studio’s brands into toys, apparel, accessories, home products and electronics in the US and Canadian retail markets. In addition to signing new licensees, the agency is also tasked with expanding retail relationships and managing an existing roster of licensing partners.
Invisible Universe currently has seven digital-first animated IPs in its portfolio, including Qai Qai (pictured, 124,000 YouTube subscribers), inspired by Serena Williams’ daughter’s doll; Clydeo (271,000 TikTok followers), featuring Jennifer Aniston’s dog; Squeaky & Roy (one million TikTok followers), about the D’Amelio influencers; My Friend Lovie (161,000 TikTok followers), starring a heart-shaped five-year-old who changes color based on her feelings; and Ember (30 million TikTok views), which focuses on the daughter of the underworld.
The studio has already produced a series of YouTube shorts for Qai Qai (Qai Qai’s Nursery Rhyme Remix), as well as a range of NFTs available on kids social media platform Zigazoo. And it has also partnered with podcast studio Audio Up to develop original music for My Friend Lovie.
