Blippi is heading to the big screen for the first time ever in a new 60-minute special called Blippi’s Big Dino Adventure (pictured) that launches in the US on August 25, thanks to Texas-based theatrical distributor Cinemark.
Produced by IP owner Moonbug Entertainment, the live-action film for preschoolers and younger kids sees Blippi (18 million YouTube subscribers) and Meekah (1.1 million YouTube subscribers) helping a park ranger and his dinosaur crew find some missing prehistoric eggs. Cinemark plans to launch the movie in more than 100 theaters.
A theatrical deal is a big step up for Blippi, which Moonbug has been steadily expanding since it acquired the brand in 2020. Some of the most significant developments for the bow-tied character include Amazon Kids+ series Blippi’s Treehouse and a Brazilian spinoff called Juca that started rolling out in January.
