Australia’s Moose Toys is amping up its action figure business with some “turtle power,” thanks to a new deal with Paramount Consumer Products to launch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys.

As part of the licensing agreement, the Aussie toyco will roll out a new range of TMNT-branded Akedo Warriors (action figures that battle on a platform) to retailers across North America in time for the theatrical premiere of Paramount’s upcoming CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on August 2.

This marks Moose’s first license for its arcade game-inspired Akedo Warriors line since launching it in 2021. In the game, players place their Akedo toys on the included controller and battle until one of the figures falls apart. The TMNT range will include a new arena with electronic controls, along with packs of figures featuring the the turtles paired against some of the franchise’s well-known villains, including Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady.

Moose can also expand the “heroes in a half shell” into collaborations with other toy brands in its portfolio, including electronic plush Magic Mixies and surprise egg collectible property Treasure X.

The toyco is already planning for the long term and turning the Turtles into stretchy and bendable action figures as part of a 2024 range for its Heroes of Goo Jit Zu toys.
