PBS KIDS has unveiled two new podcasts, putting a focus on teaching kids about jobs and also expanding one of its new TV series into audio.

First up, the US pubcaster is focusing on kids and career development with Jamming on the Job (pictured), produced by PBS North Carolina. Set to premiere on September 14 through the PBS KIDS video app and major podcast platforms, it’s aimed at kids ages four to eight. Christina Sanabria and Andres Salguero—kids music performers who go by 123 Andrés—host the podcast, in which they sing about different professions.

PBS KIDS has also greenlit a podcast that extends the reach of Work It Out Wombats!, an animated preschool series co-produced by GBH Kids and Pipeline Studios, into the audio market. Playdate with the Wombats will launch in January 2024, featuring the wombats answering questions, singing and using their imaginations. Aimed at three- to six-years-old, GBH Kids is producing the podcast with Cultural Whisperers.

The pubcaster’s growing podcast catalogue already includes The Molly of Denali Podcast, Odd Squadcast, Pinkalicious & Peterrific Podcast, Keyshawn Solves It and The Arthur Podcast (which has a third season on the way).

Podcasts have done well for PBS KIDS, garnering around 10 million downloads on the PBS KIDS podcast platform. Its most recent title, Keyshawn Solves It, was downloaded more than 30,000 times in its first four weeks, according to the broadcaster.
