Channel 5 has commissioned a new 2D-animated series about the joys of being outside and in nature for its Milkshake! preschool block.
Created by London-based Snipple Originals, The Woohoos! (52 x seven minutes) is about four young animals exploring their home on Wise Island. In each episode, they discover something new about their environment—from finding a hive of dancing bees, to learning how to get back home without a map—and must work together to explain or solve it.
Snipple’s animation studio will deliver the series to Milkshake! in 2025, and Jetpack Distribution is on board to manage international sales, starting at MIPCOM in October.
This new greenlight is part of Milkshake!’s long-term strategy to commission more eco-focused programming. In July, the broadcaster gave the nod to a pair of shows in that same vein: CG-animated Stan & Gran (52 x 11 minutes) from Jellyfish Originals and Jolly Wise, and eOne’s unscripted live-action series Animal Care Club (25 x 11 minutes).
Snipple director Karina Stanford-Smith is an executive producer on The Woohoos!, with Kitty Taylor (Best & Bester, Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed) directing.
