Bluey‘s global paw print is expanding to include the Middle East for the first time in 2024.

BBC Studios Kids & Family has signed a deal with free-to-air channel Spacetoon Kids, which has picked up the show’s first season to launch sometime next year. Based in Dubai, the pan-Arab net targets kids ages four and up.

BBC Studios, which controls Bluey‘s international distribution and licensing rights outside of Australia, has also appointed Spacetoon International Agent (SIA) to  manage the IP’s consumer products business in the Middle East. SIA has already inked licensing deals for apparel (Hollywood Magic) and musical toys/puzzles (Toy Pro), which will roll out late next year.

Beyond TV and merch, Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show is poised to give fans in the region a chance to connect with the brand in their communities, with a first date booked in Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena next August. This stage performance featuring puppets and recreations of the show’s backdrops has already had successful runs in Australia (2021) and the UK (2022).

Brisbane’s Ludo Studio’s widely acclaimed series about a Blue Heeler pup and her family was jointly commissioned six years ago by ABC Australia and BBC Studios Kids & Family in the UK.
