Warner Bros. Discovery and ITVX have ordered a fourth season (52 x 11 minutes) of Mr Bean: The Animated Series.
This latest installment is slated to air in 2025 in the UK and Ireland on ITVX Kids, and across EMEA and Southeast Asia/South Asia on WBD’s networks and streamers.
Banijay’s Tiger Aspect Kids & Family produces the series, which is based on ’90s live-action sitcom Mr. Bean. Like the original, the toon centers around a lovably buffoonish man and his teddy bear, who find themselves in a seemingly endless stream of comical conundrums. Initially launching on CiTV in the UK in 2002, Mr Bean: The Animated Series was revived in 2014 and now has 182 episodes to offer.
Tiger Aspect Kids & Family managing director Tom Beattie is the show’s executive producer with English actor Rowan Atkinson, who co-created and starred in Mr. Bean and who also voices the signature character in the animated series.
Season four’s drop next year coincides with the 35th anniversary of the live-action original, which debuted on ITV in 1990 and quickly became an international phenomenon. To date, the show has aired in 195 territories.
The Mr. Bean brand has also developed a rich digital media presence with more than 140 million Facebook followers. It has also racked up 19 billion views on its official YouTube channels and 14.2 million likes on TikTok.
