LA-based Cloudco Entertainment has partnered with lifestyle giant Sanrio to deliver a new co-branded range of consumer products featuring Care Bears and Hello Kitty.
This crossover will kick off in the spring with three limited-edition worldwide retail exclusives. Target will stock a fashion collection and plush items, Hot Topic is doing home goods, accessories and Loungefly bags, and Claire’s has cornered accessories and stationery.
“This is a deliberate strategy to make the products even more special and collectible,” says Robert Prinzo, Cloudco’s head of global licensing. “By partnering with specific retailers, we can provide fans with a unique shopping experience and offer limited-edition items that they won’t find elsewhere. This exclusivity adds value to the collaboration and enhances the overall fan experience.”
Prinzo says both teams are working closely together to create products that reflect their brands’ shared values of love, friendship and positivity. And he adds that the co-branding strategy is designed to expand the reach of Care Bears and Hello Kitty with a wider all-ages audience and introduce new generations of kids to the characters.
