British distributor Serious Kids has entered an agreement with London’s Lion Television to expand the latter’s fashion-centric series Style It Out (pictured, 11 x 30 minutes) around the world.

In addition to distributing the series globally, Serious Kids has also secured the rights to sell the show’s format to international producers for localized spinoffs.

Commissioned by the BBC Children’s and Education last year, the competition series features nine young contestants (ages 10 to 14) who must harness equal parts of sartorial savviness and a passion for sustainability.

The goal is to create outfits from secondhand material to match the given theme in each round—and the winner of the series will have the opportunity to present their designs on the runway at London Fashion Week. English TV presenter Emma Willis hosts the show while stylists Ayishat Akanbi and Jorge Antonio serve as judges.

Style It Out premiered earlier this month on CBBC and the public broadcaster’s iPlayer service.

Serious Kids’ latest deal also aligns well with a broader trend across the kids industry that’s leaning into creative ways of aging down the topic of fashion for young viewers.

Lion Television CCO Richard Bradley notes that Style It Out has an advantage of novelty to stand out in the market. “As far as we know, this is the first fashion design show for kids,” he noted in a release.

And to add an extra kid-friendly touch, Style It Out also features the appearance of a popular personality with tween appeal in each ep, including influencers, singers and dancers.
