Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has promoted its business development veteran, Philippe Roucoule, to SVP of EMEA consumer products.
Roucoule succeeds the former head of consumer products in EMEA and APAC, Julian Moon, who announced his upcoming retirement last October. (Moon will continue to oversee the APAC market while working with WBD leadership to find a successor for that region.)
In his new role, Roucoule will drive all of WBD’s consumer products operations in the EMEA region, with a focus on the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland. He reports to Robert Oberschelp, head of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, and will work together with him to develop and execute new initiatives for DC, Harry Potter and Looney Tunes.
Roucoule joined WBD in 2015, where he oversaw retail partnerships as the company’s VP of retail business development for EMEA. He was promoted to VP of category and retail business development for the region in 2019, adding regional licensing partnerships to his remit. During his tenure, WBD renewed its toy licensing deals with The LEGO Group (2019) and Mattel (2023).
Before joining WBD, he also worked for nine years in ED roles at Disney, ranging from sales and marketing (2005-10) to retail (2010-11) and food, health & beauty (2011-13) in the UK and Ireland.
