Turkey’s Fauna Entertainment has inked a distribution and YouTube management deal for Korean animation studio Chungdahm Media’s music videos.
Fauna will take over operating Chungdahm Media’s CeREELs YouTube channel (554,000 subscribers), as well as distributing four ESL music video series globally. All tolled, CeREELs has launched more than 400 videos on YouTube since early 2020, generating upwards of 100 million views. Featuring simple dialogue, these one- to two-minute shorts are designed to help South Koreans learn English.
Joining Fauna’s sales catalogue are: The Adventures of Odie (dealing with everything from bullies to planning a summer vacation); Three Eyes (featuring a three-eyed alien showing off his singing talent); Cave Chef (a series of rap videos about a caveman who wants to be a chef); and CeREELs’ flagship series Ella Gator (pictured, in which an alligator raps about things like needing a dentist and feeling lonely).
Chungdahm teamed up with Scholastic Asia in 2021 to launch a series of Ella Gator books for young English-language learners in 17 countries across Asia. And last year, this partnership was expanded to include a Reel Books series, featuring a combination of music, animation and stories featuring Chungdahm’s characters.
CeREELs’ content will be in good company in Fauna’s portfolio, which already includes Fred Rogers Productions/9 Story Media’s Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Guru Studio’s True and the Rainbow Kingdom.
