Danish studio and agency Mint Copenhagen has set up an office in London this month, with two key appointments already made.

This expansion is part of the company’s plan to broaden its slate with more animated and live-action originals. Mint has produced a handful of Nordic titles since launching in 2012, including a 2020 live-action teen mystery series called Darkness Between Us for Danish pubcaster DR TV. And its digital agency has worked with top kids brands including Pokémon, Epic Games, Star Stable and Funko.

Children’s media consultant Rob Doherty (pictured left)—who has been advising the company on a part-time basis since late 2022—has now transitioned into a new role as SVP of business development at the London branch. Working with partners in the UK and Europe, he is tasked with developing animated and live-action concepts for Mint’s originals pipeline, including “its first global IP for one of the world’s leading broadcasters,” according to a release.

Well-versed in the kids content biz, Doherty has worked previously at Jetix (2004 to 2006), Aardman (2011 to 2013) and CAKE (2018 to 2022). Over the past two years, he has been channeling his expertise into part-time consulting roles at companies including London-based Omens Studios and Uplift Games (a Roblox games developer in the UK).

Mint has also recruited former SuperAwesome exec Shane Keane (pictured right) to serve as head of growth for EMEA. Based out of London, he’ll focus on the company’s digital agency business, helping to build online campaigns for kids and family brands in the region. Several of Mint’s international clients are based in the UK.

Keane stepped into this role in January after a seven-year tenure at SuperAwesome that ended in November 2023. His most recent position there was head of business development for EMEA. Before that, he spent two years (2014 to 2016) at the company behind music app Shazam, where he was a media manager overseeing territories such as EMEA, APAC and LatAm.

Both Doherty and Keane will work closely with Mint’s senior management team in the Copenhagen headquarters, including Philip Agerbech (owner/creative director),  Rasmus Dige (owner/COO) and Josephine Jerris Margolis (partner/producer).
