The Jim Henson Company is developing its first-ever Fraggle Rock touring stage show and has appointed The Brad Simon Organization as the production’s exclusive booking agent.
In Fraggle Rock LIVE, Gobo Fraggle will go an epic adventure with pals Mokey, Boober, Wembley and Red to unearth a long-lost relic called the Great Song Stone. The show is scheduled to tour the US next year and is intended for an all-ages audience.
American puppeteer and actor John Tartaglia will run point on the production as both writer and director. He has worked on a wide range of stage shows throughout his career, directing Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Jim Henson’s Inspired Silliness, and performing in Avenue Q and Shrek the Musical.
Meanwhile, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is crafting brand-new walk-around versions of the iconic Fraggle puppets, mechanized Doozers, giant Gorgs and a host of new characters that will be introduced to the franchise in this live theater experience.
The Brad Simon Organization, which launched in 1983, has created and toured shows based on more than 20 TV series and 80-plus book titles across the US, Canada, Australia and Singapore. The New York-based company’s 2024 roster of kids productions includes Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood LIVE (Fred Rogers Productions), Wild Kratts Live 2.0 – Activate Creature Power! (PBS KIDS) and A Year with Frog and Toad (based on the books by Arnold Lobel).
