France-based prodco StudioCanal is bolstering the leadership ranks of its in-house licensing division The Copyrights Group by recruiting former Disney executive Sissel Henno as head of global sales.
In the newly created role, Henno will oversee Copyrights’ licensing and retail teams, which manage L&M for a wide range of kids brands, including Paddington Bear and Mush-Mush & The Mushables. Her remit also includes launching consumer products programs for StudioCanal’s portfolio across the UK and EMEA regions, and later developing them into global campaigns.
Henno joined the Copyrights team earlier this month and reports to CEO and EVP of StudioCanal’s kids’ brands Françoise Guyonnet.
In an early move to reinforce Henno’s team, the prodco has also appointed its former head of digital sales Benoît Jaubert as a new sales VP for the Copyrights division. Jaubert will report to Henno while selling L&M rights for Paddington in France and managing Copyrights’ licensing partners across Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to joining Copyrights, Henno worked as an independent consultant for 11 months, leveraging more than two decades of experience in the licensing industry to support her clients’ business development and licensing strategies. Her career highlights include spearheading the re-launch of Disney’s Star Wars licensing program in EMEA while serving as the Mouse House’s director of licensing sales (2015 to 2022) and heading up SEGA Europe’s licensing infrastructure for its Sonic the Hedgehog and Total War gaming franchises (2011 to 2015).
