Angel Studios and Shining Isle Productions have appointed Las Vegas-based Licensing Works! to represent the consumer products interests of their CG-animated fantasy series The Wingfeather Saga (13 x 25 minutes) in the US market.

Licensing Works! will initially focus on securing new licensees for the series, which caters to kids ages eight to 14, at next month’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. The brand has had some traction in the consumer products space already; Shining Isle launched a range of hardcover books, T-shirts, maps and character cards as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2016, raising more than US$260,000 for the show’s production from 3,169 backers.

The Wingfeather Saga is adapted from a four-volume book series of the same name penned by American author Andrew Peterson. It has sold more than 1.5 million copies in the US to date through publisher Penguin Random House, and follows the adventures of three siblings who must set out to defeat the mysterious ruler of their world and uncover the lost legend and treasures of King Wingfeather.

Angel Studios has also adapted the franchise into a Roblox game called Wingfeather Saga: Adventures in Glipwood that has been played more than 54,000 times since its launch last year.

The Wingfeather Saga’s first season debuted in 2022 and airs in the US through Apple TV, Google Play Store, Prime Video and Angel Studios’ AVOD service. A second season is in the works to launch later this year.
