Deals in Brief – April 17, 2024

Jetpack got down to business at MIPTV, Hasbro renews with Disguise for costumes, and Sesame Workshop has signed a new licensing agency in Brazil.

  • Jetpack Distribution has come away from the last-ever MIPTV market with several new sales deals in its pocket. Two Daughters Entertainment’s Moley (52 x 11 minutes, pictured) has been picked up by RTS (Switzerland), Ceska TV (Czechia), LRT TV (Lithuania) and Kazakh TV (Kazakhstan). Meanwhile, Silly Pets (20 x six minutes) and Silly Animals (20 x six minutes) from Rebel Television are heading to TV3 (Spain), BeIN (Qatar) and RiK (Cyprus). And TVOKids (Canada) and DR TV (Denmark) have both acquired rights to Snipple Originals’ musical preschool series The Singalongs (26 x five minutes)
  • Hasbro has renewed its licensing agreement with Disguise, which will continue making and distributing costumes and dress-up accessories based on all of the toyco’s brands in North America and LatAm.
  • Sesame Workshop has named The Business Hub Group as its Brazilian licensing agent for Vila Sésamo (Sesame Street‘s localized co-production in the region). TBGH will manage consumer products, retail events and special executions for the legacy children’s television brand, which has been in the market in Brazil for more than 50 years.
  • New toyco Wyncor has signed a deal with ACD Distribution to get its products out to more than 4,000 mid-tier and specialty retailers in the US. Wyncor’s patented lines includes MiraBall collectibles, compound MagicReClay and SwopPop customizable bags, and it has licensing agreements with Paramount (TMNT, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol), Hasbro (Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, Transformers) and ZAG (Miraculous) in its portfolio.
