Rubies Masquerade Company is expanding its partnership with Lucasfilm to cover preschool costumes based on CG-animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures

Three new dress-up SKUs inspired by characters including Master Yoda and Jedi initiates Nubs and Kai Brightstar (pictured) have just rolled out to retailers across the UK. They join several other new licensed costumes in the manufacturer’s 2024 line, including Tom and Jerry, Care Bears, Wednesday and Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Rubies’ head of portfolio Fran Hales says the company is particularly focused on building out its preschool offering following the success of last year’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends deluxe line of padded jumpsuit costumes.

India’s Business Research Insights has forecast that the global Halloween costume market, which generated US$4.3 billion in annual revenue last year, will continue to grow by 4.2% annually until it hits US$6.17 billion in 2031. Shifting consumer attitudes and behavior is driving this growth. Costume play isn’t just limited to Halloween anymore; kids are increasingly dressing up throughout the year for costume parties, school events and other holiday celebrations.
