Hasbro has unveiled a new range of Star Wars consumer products that are currently en route to retailers worldwide in the lead up to this year’s May the 4th brand celebration.

Product rollouts start on May 4 (natch), with Lightsaber Forge electronic role-play versions of Darth Vader’s iconic red saber and the Darksaber featured in Disney’s The Mandalorian coming out first for kids ages four and up. At the same time, Hasbro will release a Retro Collection Multipack of six Star Wars: The Phantom Menace action figures to celebrate the first prequel film’s 25th anniversary.

Then in the summer, Hasbro has two new six-inch action figure collections in The Black Series lined up, featuring Darth Vader’s appearance in A New Hope and the Drodieka Destroyer Droid from The Phantom Menace. And the toyco is also planning to release a pair of 3.75-inch Vintage Collection figures of Jango Fett and Din Djarin from The Mandolorian

May the 4th and Star Wars Day celebration events started in Toronto back in 2011, but quickly expanded to other cities including San Diego and New York. The brand’s largest organized convention, Star Wars Celebration, is taking a hiatus this year but will return in April 2025 with its first edition in Japan. In 2019, the fan expo welcomed more than 65,000 attendees to Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.
