Netflix’s popular preschool series Gabby’s Dollhouse is being adapted for the big screen by Dreamworks Animation and Universal Pictures.
Slated for a worldwide theatrical premiere on September 26, 2025, Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie will see Laila Lockhart Kraner (pictured) reprise her lead role in a new story executive produced by show creators Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey.
In the pic, Gabby loses her prized dollhouse to an eccentric cat lady while on a road trip with her grandmother, and the duo embarks on a real-world adventure to save the dollhouse and Gabby’s feline friends.
Ryan Crego (Arlo the Alligator Boy) is directing, with Steven Schweickart (Kung Fu Panda 4) attached to produce. DreamWorks and Universal have not disclosed a streaming strategy for the movie yet.
According to Nielsen, Gabby’s Dollhouse was the sixth most-viewed streaming original series in 2023. And last September, Netflix upped its total episode order to 100, with season 10 set to launch later this year.
Since debuting in 2021, the show has consistently been among the top-10 most-watched TV shows on Netflix in 57 countries. It has also expanded into a bona fide franchise, with toys, YouTube content, publishing, home and apparel products, apps, theme parks and live events in market and generating considerable revenue.
