Breakout Netflix series Wednesday is moving into print for the first time, with a worldwide publishing program from Penguin Random House and Amazon MGM Studios set to start rolling out in July.
The range will feature titles for children, teens and adult readers, including an all-ages coloring book, a Little Golden Book, a Nightshade Society journal, a YA novelization of season one and a cookbook.
First up, Random House Books for Young Readers will launch Wednesday: Official Coloring Book (pictured) and preschool title I Am Wednesday (Little Golden Book) on July 2.
Then September 3 will see the imprint release Wednesday: A Novelization of Season One, written by bestselling and award-winning author Tehlor Kay Mejia. It’s based on season-one scripts from show creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, as well as additional episodes written by Kayla Alpert, April Blair and Matt Lambert.
The Official Wednesday Cookbook from Random House Worlds is due out on September 17. Written by Emmy–winning TV producer and author Mari Mancusi, it spotlights 60 ghoulish recipes, including Wednesday’s Woefull Waffles.
Finally, Wednesday: The Official Nightshade Society Journal: A Journal for Writing, Drawing, Coloring, and More will round out the program on October 1, with a companion game and oracle deck from Clarkson Potter to follow in 2025.
Wednesday’s consumer products program already spans apparel (Hot Topic), costumes (Rubie’s), figures (Funko) and dolls and collectibles for Mattel’s Monster High and Little People toy lines.
When the Emmy–winning show launched on Netflix in November 2022, it was viewed by 50 million households in its first week alone. It quickly hit number-one status in 89 countries, and broke Netflix’s record for most hours viewed in a week for an English-language series twice. It was also one of the streamer’s most-watched titles in 2023.
