Licensing industry veteran Robert Marick, who left his head of consumer products position at MGM Studios in January, has launched a new LA-based consulting firm called Marick Management Group (M2G).
Its core services span business planning, entertainment licensing, global brand management and marketing & sales, leveraging Marick’s extensive consumer products skills and network to provide clients with roadmaps for breaking into new product categories ranging from toys and apparel, to location-based entertainment and video games.
M2G’s past clients include Discovery Communications, Jada Toys, Fox Entertainment Group, China Central Television (CCTV) and Skynet Asia. And Marick will be at next month’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas meeting with prospective clients.
Marick joined MGM Studios in 2019, and in his five-year run with the company he launched a global consumer products program for Netflix tween/teen hit Wednesday and oversaw licensing for classic MGM film franchises including Teen Wolf, The Pink Panther, Rocky and James Bond.
Earlier in his career, Marick worked in senior executive roles at Discovery (SVP of licensing and LBE), Disney (VP and GM of toys), Warner Music Group (VP of sales and marketing) and Mattel (director of marketing).
