Due to high global demand for its content, Banijay Kids & Family has rolled out 12 new YouTube channels categorized by genre, as well as rebranding its whole YouTube channel portfolio as ZeeKay.
Most of the new channels focus on themes including British cartoons, anime, action, music, arts, sport, animals and challenges, with curated content from popular Banijay shows such as Totally Spies!, Mr Bean: The Animated Series, Mister Maker, Corpse Talk, Mumfie and Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge. But the company has also set up new hubs for French, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish users.
Moving forward, global head of digital Dan Lewsey says the plan is to extend the new channels to other verticals including FAST channels at a later date.
Banijay Kids & Family already operates four main YouTube brands (ZeeKay Cartoons, ZeeKay Junior, ZeeKay Family and ZeeKay Education), but it has a broader online media network that currently consists of more than 150 channels across platforms including Amazon, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and FAST, reaching a collective 75 million viewers each month.
The company partnered with YouTube revenue experts The Polar Bears last September to boost the commercial performance of its digital network via paid media, advertising sales, sponsorship, branded content and ad-funded programming.
