Mo Willems’ Hidden Pigeon Company (HPC) has signed New York’s Retail Monster as its global licensing agent.

Retail Monster will develop and execute a broad consumer products program for Willems’ roster of picture book characters, including The Pigeon, Knuffle Bunny and the Naked Mole Rat.

At press time, the licensing agency was already in talks with potential partners in key categories like toys and apparel. Retail Monster will also represent HPC later this month at Licensing Expo, where it will be looking to pair Willems’ brands with more best-in-class partners.

Meanwhile, HPC is hard at work on developing new screen adaptations of the author’s books, including an animated TV concept based on The Pigeon. To date, publisher Penguin Random House has sold more than eight million copies of the bestselling 13-book series in North America, and they’re also available in 20 other languages.
