- Italy’s Rainbow Group has appointed Playmates Toys and Giochi Preziosi as master toy partners for its upcoming CG-animated Winx Club reboot series, which is slated for a Q4 2025 debut on Netflix. The two companies are splitting global distribution rights to a range of fashion dolls, accessories, role-play toys and playsets. Playmates will manage the Americas, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and South Africa, while Giochi focuses on Europe and the UK.
- Moonbug Entertainment has teamed up with kids magazine publisher Highlights to launch Highlights CoComelon, a monthly subscription-based print magazine targeting US kids ages one to four and their families. The first issue is due out this August, featuring kid-friendly puzzles, poems and parent resources. CoComelon Playdate, a new family entertainment center, is also opening in the Mall of America in Bloomington later this year.
- Penguin Ventures has re-signed Sony Creative Products to serve as the Japanese licensing agent for the World of Peter Rabbit IP for six more years. The deal renewal includes increased investment to expand the brand’s consumer products business in the region.
- US linear net Kids Street has acquired Jungle Beat (104 x seven minutes, pictured) and will start airing the CG-animated series weekly on May 27, as per a new deal with distributor Monster Entertainment. Aussie streaming service Stan has also picked up all eight seasons of the show for a June 29 premiere. With two films produced by Mauritius-based Sandcastle Studios, the Jungle Beat franchise targets four- to eight-year-olds.
- Jazwares is expanding the EMEA licensing portfolio of its Squishmallows plush brand with new partners such as Fashion UK (apparel), Hox Global (school lunch bags) and publisher Quarto, which is releasing a branded baking recipe book this September.
