- French broadcaster Gulli has picked up the 2D-animated Monster Shaker (52 x 11 minutes, pictured) to launch on July 8. Co-produced by Go-N Productions and DeAPlaneta Entertainment, the series follows two tweens who deal with the hijinks of a magic shaker with the power to unleash crazy monsters. DeAPlaneta handles L&M rights (everywhere except France, Switzerland and Belgium) and distributes the series with Federation Studios.
- British edtech company Sandbox Group is teaming up with free online homeschooling platform DK12, which serves more than 800,000 families in the US. Under the partnership, free DK12 subscribers will receive one month of free access to Sandbox’s edutainment app PlayKids+, while paid DK12 members will receive a full year of PlayKids+ access along with offline learning supplements.
- Bejuba! Entertainment has acquired worldwide distribution rights to Animixies (52 x 11 minutes), an upper preschool CG toon targeting four to sevens. LA’s Pipsqueak Animation will produce, and New Delhi’s Citrus Ink Studios will handle the animation work. Series creators Mike Blum and Jeff Prezenkowski are attached as EPs, along with Bejuba! president Tatiana Kober. The show explores a fantastical island where two kids discover hidden critters and assemble them to form the titular mixed creatures.
