  • ZAG and Mediawan’s Miraculous Corp has signed several licensing deals throughout MENA for its flagship Miraculous franchise. New regional partners include Ackermans (girls apparel), Herfy (kids meal program), Sai GROUP Kandiz (frozen ready meals), Banat (toothbrushes), Procos (party goods) and Striders (backpacks), which will all roll out products by end of this year. The company has also launched dedicated Miraculous YouTube channels in Arabic and Turkish to make the show accessible to more viewers.

  • Jazwares is teaming up with supermarket chain ALDI USA to launch a range of Squishmallows Slides for children and women. Rolling out in more than 2,300 ALDI storefronts across the US next week, these rubber sandals will include four separate plush character designs, including Cam the calico cat and Winston the owl. ALDI already stocks a wide range of Squishmallows products such as plush toys, pet beds and apparel.

  • Disney has inked a deal with Japan’s GungHo Online Entertainment to develop a licensed free-to-play mobile game featuring characters including Ariel, Goofy, Stitch and Maleficent. Disney Pixel RPG will launch later this year for iOS and Android phones, and is designed for all ages. Players can send Mickey Mouse and his friends on quests in a pixel-art world to defeat evil programs invading the Disney Universe. They will also be able to customize their characters with new clothing items found and earned along the way.

  • US pubcaster PBS KIDS will air a stop-motion film called Brambletown, featuring children’s music duo The Okee Dokee Brothers, on July 26. Produced by Paper Tailor Pictures, this 35-minute special follows the story of best friends Fox and Badger, who return to their childhood home only to encounter major disruptions to their once-peaceful forest community. It will also feature a range of folk songs from Okee Dokee’s same-name album that launched earlier in January.
