- Mattel and London-based Outright Games have teamed up to produce a new console/PC video game called Barbie Project Friendship, which will launch on October 25. It revolves around two different Barbies (Malibu Barbie and Brooklyn Barbie) giving their local community center a glam makeover. Mattel and Outright, which inked a multi-year development partnership in May, have already released game titles based on the toyco’s Matchbox and Monster High brands.
- Sweden’s The Gang has just launched a first Roblox game based on DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda franchise. Developed in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, Kung Fu Panda: Hero Showdown came out in beta today and will roll out fully later this summer. This title is part of a larger collaboration between The Gang and Universal to eventually move all of DreamWorks’ kids entertainment brands onto Roblox. Their first such title, Shrek Swamp Tycoon (pictured), launched on the platform yesterday.
