Kidscreen has confirmed that Casey Collins stepped down from his president of global licensed consumer products and partnerships/alliances position at Hasbro last week.
A spokesperson says the company will share further details and updates about his role at a later date, but in the meantime, Tim Kilpin (president of toys, licensing and entertainment) will temporarily oversee Collins’ division.
Hasbro promoted Collins just three months ago, adding strategic partnerships and alliances to his remit. Credited with setting up hundreds of licensing agreements for the company’s 1,900-plus toy and entertainment brands since he joined in 2018, Collins has been the driving force behind Hasbro’s consumer products business, and his abrupt departure was unexpected.
Some of his most notable accomplishments include inking deals with Basic Fun! to revive retired toy brands such as Lite-Brite and Littlest Pet Shop, orchestrating the first LEGO construction sets for Peppa Pig and Transformers, and establishing Hasbro’s first co-branding partnerships with long-time rival Mattel for Transformers Hot Wheels and Barbie Monopoly.
