- Goliath has inked an exclusive deal to distribute PlayMonster’s toy catalogue in the UK and Ireland starting in January 2025. Its products include art device Spirograph, retro ball Koosh and board game 5 Second Rule (which also has a Disney licensed version).
- The LEGO Group is gearing up to launch a range of Wicked building sets based on the upcoming Universal Pictures film. Four SKUs will start rolling out on October 1, including one featuring the Emerald City and another character-based set. Wicked debuts in theaters on November 22 (with a sequel slated for November 2025) and already has a broad CP program behind it that includes toys, apparel and collectibles.
- Peacock has picked up three animated series from Nelvana to start streaming in the US. First to launch will be Agent Binky: Pets of the Universe (78 x 22 minutes) on August 15, followed by The Dog & Pony Show (pictured, 26 x 22 minutes) on September 15 and Super Wish (26 x 22 minutes) on October 10.
- Costume company Smiffys, which was acquired by toyco Ad Populum at the beginning of July, has struck a deal to become Rubies sales agent in the UK and Ireland. Smiffys’ sales team is tasked with bringing Rubies’ costumes, which includes licensed products from Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Mattel, to UK retailers. Ad Populum owns both companies (it acquired Rubies in 2020).
- Mattel is building out its video game portfolio with Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Stunt Mayhem (from 3D Clouds and GameMill Entertainment) launching for consoles and PC on October 18. The game will let kids perform stunts with Hot Wheels monster trucks either solo or with friends.
