Walmart is already getting into the holiday spirit with yesterday’s unveiling of its annual Top Toys List, featuring 66 must-haves for kids.
With inflation and cost of living increases dampening consumer spending power, the big-box chain has curated a list of “25 toys under US$25” to help families save money this year. Licensed SKUs in this category include the Despicable Me 4 Ultimate Fart Blaster (US$24.84, pictured)) from Moose Toys, Hasbro’s Force N’ Telling Darth Vader figure (US$19.97) and Mattel’s assortment of Mini BarbieLand surprise reveal dolls (starting at US$2.88).
Meanwhile, Walmart’s “The GOATs” category features 12 toys inspired by some of the greatest film and TV characters of all time, ranging from the Bluey 3-in-1 Transforming Plane Playset (Moose toys), 18″ sleeping plush ranges for Pokémon and Hello Kitty (Jazwares) and the PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels Tower (Spin Master).
Boasting 11 licensed offerings, the “Fantastical Fun” list of toys with interactive elements features Moose Toys’ MrBeast Lab Mutators action figures, The LEGO Group’s Harry Potter Mandrake Plant construction set and PlayMates Toys’ 2-in-1 Fashion Switch Miraculous Ladybug doll.
Following closely behind Walmart, Amazon posted its curated holiday toy list today. Featuring more than 300 products, the e-commerce giant has earmarked the Toniebox Disney Set, the physical edition of Monopoly GO! and the Squishmallows Micromallows Ferris Wheel to top kids’ wishlists this year.
